My Counselling Services
I am a fully qualified counsellor (Graduate Diploma) and am
accredited to the British Association of Counsellors and
Psychotherapists (BACP).
I work with clients in private practice from my premises in York or anywhere in the UK by phone. I have experience in all the following:
- Eating disorders. My main specialist area - including anorexia, bulimia and weight problems
- Anxiety/panic attacks
- Low self confidence and self esteem
- Bereavement
- Self-harm
- Depression
- Work related stress
- Phobias
- Relationships
I am an integrative counsellor. That means that rather than sticking to just one counselling model (such as psychodynamic or cognitive behavioural therapy) I use different ideas and techniques to suit you.
Some people want to understand why they are having problems - the origins of the difficulties if you like. Others want to tackle the symptoms of those problems as they're affecting them now. We can work with either or both approaches.
I'm accredited to my professional association, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. To quote from their website:

I am also an experienced telephone counsellor.
I also offer training to counsellors or other groups in working with eating disorders and training in working by telephone.
